A leading geotechnical contractor in Singapore is seeking a Deputy Geotechnical Design Manager to manage design teams, develop junior engineers, and ensure compliance with engineering standards. Candidates must have a PEB-recognised degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience. The role offers a competitive salary of up to SGD 8,500 plus bonuses and is located in Boon Lay.

Qualifications

• A PEB-recognised degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Plaxis software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Design Manager in managing a design team.
• Lead, develop and provide training to junior engineers.
• Understand and manage client requirements.
• Liaise with external stakeholders on technical proposals.
• Ensure designs comply with regulations and standards.
• Review designs and ensure timely delivery.
• Investigate technical incidents.
• Review project closing reports and develop improvements.
• Participate in engineering societies and contribute technical papers.
• Participate in global expertise groups.
• Design solutions for ground improvement.
• Provide technical marketing of solutions to clients.
• Conduct regular site visits to promote quality and good practices.

Our Client, the world’s largest geotechnical specialist contractor, is inviting qualified candidates to fill the position as Deputy Geotechnical Design Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Design Manager in Managing a design team.
• Lead, develop and provide training to junior engineers.
• Understand and manage client requirements.
• Liaise with external stakeholders on technical proposal for the projects.
• Ensure designs complies with regulation, engineering codes, standards and practices.
• Review designs and ensure they are delivered in a timely manner.
• Investigate incidents with technical issues.
• Review project closing report with internal stakeholders and develop improvements for future risk mitigation.
• Participate in engineering societies and contribute technical papers for conferences.
• Participate in global expertise groups.
• Design "Design & Build" solutions, including solutions for ground improvement where relevant.
• Provide technical marketing of solutions to clients and consultants.
• Conduct regular site visits to train and create buy-in from site personnel, as well as to promote quality and good practices.

REQUIREMENTS

• A PEB-recognised degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
• At least 10 years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), AutoCAD, Plaxis 2D and Plaxis 3D
