Job summary

A healthcare organization in Singapore is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist responsible for transcribing doctors' dictations into accurate diagnostic reports and ensuring adherence to confidentiality guidelines. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or higher qualification, strong computer skills, and experience in healthcare. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication skills, with a 5.5-day work week including half-day on Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Related working experience in healthcare is an advantage.
  • Understanding of medical terminology is beneficial.

Job Description

We are seeking a Medical Transcriptionist to transcribe doctors' dictations into accurate diagnostic reports, ensure consistency, identify errors, submit records for approval, adhere to confidentiality guidelines, file reports, and perform other assigned duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Listen to the recorded dictation of doctors.
  • Transcribe and interpret the dictation into diagnostic test results and reports.
  • Make sure the transcription is correct, complete and has a consistent style.
  • Identify inconsistencies, error and missing information within a report that could compromise patient care.
  • Submit health records to physicians for approval.
  • Follow patient confidentiality/guidelines and legal documentation requirements.
  • Filing and upload transcribed reports.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the management.
Requirements
  • At least Primary/ Secondary School/ 'O' Level, Professional Certificate/ NiTEC, Diploma/ Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma in any field.
  • Related working experience in healthcare and understanding of medical terminology/ abbreviations/ jargon will be added advantage.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient in MS Office Advantage.
  • Meticulous, eye for details, precise, organised and efficient.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skill.
  • Effective team player and able to work in fast paced environment.
  • 5.5 days work week (Monday to Friday; Half Saturday).
  • Location: Orchard.
