Job description
ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a Data Analyst (Finance) to own the development of financial and business data models that drive decision-making across Tazapay. This is an individual contributor role with project ownership responsibilities — ideal for someone who wants to build robust, scalable data infrastructure and analytics capabilities within a fast‑growing fintech.

You will design, build, and maintain data models, ensuring data reliability, transparency, and actionable insights for finance, product, and leadership stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Modeling & Infrastructure
  • Build and maintain finance and business data marts
  • Translate complex financial and operational logic into well‑documented, auditable SQL transformations.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and data engineering teams to ensure model alignment with reporting and forecasting needs.
  • Establish data quality checks and automated validation layers to detect anomalies early.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Design and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor product and business performance using Apache Superset, AWS QuickSight, or equivalent BI tools.
  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses to uncover drivers of revenue, cost, and margin variance.
  • Own and enhance recurring financial and operational reports used by Finance, Leadership, and Board.
Data Governance & Documentation
  • Document data definitions, business logic, and SQL workflows.
Project Ownership
  • Lead small data initiatives end‑to‑end — from scoping and prioritization to delivery and stakeholder alignment.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to translate business problems into data solutions.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or other related majors with 2-4 years of related work experience
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation.
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, Superset) for dashboarding.
  • Experience in ETL processes and working with APIs, data warehouses, or cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services (Good to have).
  • Exposure to finance or accounting concepts (Good to have).
