ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Data Analyst (Finance) to own the development of financial and business data models that drive decision-making across Tazapay. This is an individual contributor role with project ownership responsibilities — ideal for someone who wants to build robust, scalable data infrastructure and analytics capabilities within a fast‑growing fintech.
You will design, build, and maintain data models, ensuring data reliability, transparency, and actionable insights for finance, product, and leadership stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Data Modeling & Infrastructure
- Build and maintain finance and business data marts
- Translate complex financial and operational logic into well‑documented, auditable SQL transformations.
- Collaborate with FP&A and data engineering teams to ensure model alignment with reporting and forecasting needs.
- Establish data quality checks and automated validation layers to detect anomalies early.
Analytics & Reporting
- Design and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor product and business performance using Apache Superset, AWS QuickSight, or equivalent BI tools.
- Conduct deep‑dive analyses to uncover drivers of revenue, cost, and margin variance.
- Own and enhance recurring financial and operational reports used by Finance, Leadership, and Board.
Data Governance & Documentation
- Document data definitions, business logic, and SQL workflows.
Project Ownership
- Lead small data initiatives end‑to‑end — from scoping and prioritization to delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Partner cross‑functionally to translate business problems into data solutions.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or other related majors with 2-4 years of related work experience
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or R for data manipulation.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight, Superset) for dashboarding.
- Experience in ETL processes and working with APIs, data warehouses, or cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate cross‑functionally.
- Experience in payments, fintech, or financial services (Good to have).
- Exposure to finance or accounting concepts (Good to have).
