Position Summary
Customer Support Manager (Datacenter 2nd Level support & Service Operations APAC) will provide technical and customer support services for our MTU supplied gensets/controls and other equipment, if possible, assist project team to support 3rd Party products and are usually supported by external suppliers. This person will provide technical support for ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and other types of systems and equipment are properly installed, connected, tested, and functioning as intended.
What You Will Be Doing
Customer Support regional duties and responsibilities
- Provides 2nd Level technical support for all Diesel/Gas engines (4000, 2000, 1600). Focus electronics, automation (Foxbat, EnergetIQ, Dive etc.) and software support, simulations to APAC distributors, and PSB projects.
- Attends technical enquiries and works with Factory's Global Service Level 3 and R&D.
- Organizes investigations, troubleshooting, and service quality improvement activities and follows through until resolution.
- Evaluates engine/gensets/systems operating data. Troubleshoots mechanically on engines, complex automation, electronic and systems issues.
- Analyzes, ascertains, and performs differentiation that the defects are warrantable or commercially chargeable.
- Works with Project team and APAC distributor service Team to handle troubleshooting and defects claims both local and overseas within APAC region.
- Assists CiF Manager and Parts Technical teams to manage the service information and verify the parts compatibility and technical correctness.
Aftermarket & Service Sale Support
- Collaborates with service sales and technical teams to support service solutions, repair proposals, and post‑commissioning service offerings.
- Assists Service Sale to review quotations for service activities, repairs, and project‑specific service requirements.
- Contributes to standardization of commissioning practices and knowledge sharing across the regional service organization in APAC region.
Commissioning & Service Operations Management
- Depending on the scope of supply, participates in project technical specifications on Engineering Reviews and Engineering Validation Activities, Studies, Operability, Commissioning in design and Commissioning Procedures.
- Participates and contributes to review various complex commissioning deliverables, analyzes the documents, and highlights the shortfalls through vigorous review process and addresses these shortfalls with the sales/project team.
- Participates in meetings with the project team to review issues and provides support where necessary.
- Provides technical oversight during commissioning to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Works with Project Team to verify and close out product/operation issues associated with the package.
- Supports Hyperscale Key Accounts customers, network and 1st Levels to support on‑site or remotely for product issues investigation.
- Works on assigned tasks from time to time.
Position Requirements
- Minimum Degree/Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Mechatronic Engineering or related Engineering Disciplines.
- 7–10 years of related work experience in service operations, commissioning, or technical support in diesel/gas engines and power generation, energy systems, or OEM Generator sets. Data center infrastructure and facility knowledge a plus.
- Experience with testing LV/MV Switchboards, commissioning power generators. A LEW license Grade 7/8/9 is a plus.
- Capable of testing and calibration of Generator Control Panel and assisting 3rd party supplier on Electrical switchboard and its components, troubleshooting and clear understanding of diesel engines electrical and mechanical system specification.
- Familiar with diesel/ gas engines and generators set project testing procedures and applicable rules and regulations of regulatory bodies (e.g., SS, ISO 3046, 8528).
- Holding of WSQ/HS&E safety certifications or equivalent is a plus.
- Willingness to travel regionally for service support in APAC region.

- Strong technical knowledge of power generation systems, commissioning workflows, and service operations.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple commissioning streams.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer engagement abilities.
- High attention to detail with a structured and problem‑solving mindset.
- Able to work effectively in fast‑paced, dynamic project environments.
- Willingness to travel regionally for project and service support.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with MTU engines or power generation systems.
- Knowledge in hybrid, electrified, or digitalized power solutions.
- WSQ/NEBOSH safety certifications or equivalent.
