Job description

Job Descriptions:

1. Support HOD in developing and executing strategic plans aligned with the company's overall objectives to drive growth, profitability, and expansion within the wholesale trade division.
2. Oversee aspects of wholesale trade operations, including inventory management, logistics, distribution and customer service.
3. Streamline operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance overall productivity while maintaining high service levels.
4. Manage and optimise the supply chain, ensuring the timely procurement of goods, efficient inventory turnover and effective distribution to customers or retail partners.
5. Oversee and manage departmental budgets, monitor expenses, analyse financial performance and optimise costs while ensuring profitability and adherence to financial targets.
6. Mentor and manage operation team, fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation and professional growth.
7. Maintain and enhance relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key customers, ensuring high levels of service and satisfaction.
8. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, trade laws and industry regulations related to wholesale trade operations. Assess risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential disruptions, ensuring safe work environment.
9. Analyse operational performance metrics, identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
10. Other ad-hoc duties/ projects as assigned by Superior.

Job Requirements:

• At least 5 – 6 years of relevant experience in freight logistics, with at least 5 years in a senior management or HOD-level role.
• Experience in wholesale trade operations, with a strong track record in a managerial or HOD role.
• Proven leadership capabilities with strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and people development skills.
• Familiarity with international trade regulations, shipping documentation, and port operations, regulations and Incoterms.
• Prior experience in global container shipping (as an exporter or freight forwarder) with sound knowledge of freight pricing, forwarding practices, and freight rate hedging.
• Strong decision-making ability, resilience under pressure, and sound business judgment in managing complex logistics operations.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills to lead cross-functional collaboration.

Additional Information:

• Basic $4,000-$4,500/month (negotiable subject to skills, commitment and attitude)
• Working location: Central
• Working days: Monday to Friday
• Working hours: 9am to 6pm
