Work Scope of a Junior Sous Chef
Food Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and standards.
- Ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
- Assist with menu planning and new dish development.
Kitchen Supervision
- Oversee the kitchen team during the absence of Head Chef.
- Monitor kitchen workflow and delegate tasks to cooks and other junior staff.
- Ensure all stations are prepped and running smoothly.
Quality & Safety Standards
- Maintain high hygiene and food safety standards
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations.
- Monitor stock rotation and food storage conditions.
Training & Development
- Mentor junior kitchen staff.
- Support in onboarding new team members.
- Provide guidance to maintain consistent performance.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Assist with inventory checks and ordering ingredients.
- Help control food costs by minimizing waste.
- Suggest cost-effective ways to improve operations.
