Work Scope of a Junior Sous Chef
Food Preparation & Cooking
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to the menu and standards.
  • Ensure consistent food quality and presentation.
  • Assist with menu planning and new dish development.
Kitchen Supervision
  • Oversee the kitchen team during the absence of Head Chef.
  • Monitor kitchen workflow and delegate tasks to cooks and other junior staff.
  • Ensure all stations are prepped and running smoothly.
Quality & Safety Standards
  • Maintain high hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations.
  • Monitor stock rotation and food storage conditions.
Training & Development
  • Mentor junior kitchen staff.
  • Support in onboarding new team members.
  • Provide guidance to maintain consistent performance.
Inventory & Cost Control
  • Assist with inventory checks and ordering ingredients.
  • Help control food costs by minimizing waste.
  • Suggest cost-effective ways to improve operations.
