Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is looking for a Contract Manager based in Singapore. The role involves managing contracts throughout the project lifecycle, including preparation, administration, and dispute resolution. Candidates should have 3-8 years of experience in contracts management within the marine or offshore industry, with strong negotiation and communication skills. A Diploma or Degree in a relevant field is required.

Qualifications

  • 3-8 years of relevant commercial or contracts management experience in a shipyard, marine, offshore, or EPC environment.
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding / ship repair contracts and subcontract management.
  • Good understanding of contract terms, variations, claims, and cost control.

Job description
Responsibilities
Pre‑Contracts
  • Support tender and bid preparation, including commercial reviews and clarifications
  • Review contract terms and conditions, identifying commercial and contractual risks, particularly those that could lead to claims or disputes
  • Assist in pricing, cost estimates, and commercial submissions
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (engineering, procurement, project teams) during tender stage
Post‑Contracts
  • Administer contracts throughout the project lifecycle, with focus ondispute and claims management
  • Identify, prepare, and manage contractual claims related to variations, additional works, delays, disruption, and acceleration
  • Ensure timely submission of notices and claims in accordance with contract terms
  • Evaluate and respond to claims from clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Support commercial negotiations to achieve fair and amicable settlements
  • Monitor project costs, payments, and invoicing in line with contract terms
  • Prepare and review progress claims, final accounts, and commercial reports
  • Assist in formal dispute resolution processes, including mediation, adjudication, or arbitration
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Business, Maritime Studies, or related discipline
  • 3–8 years of relevant commercial or contracts management experience in a shipyard, marine, offshore, or EPC environment
  • Familiarity with shipbuilding / ship repair contracts and subcontract management
  • Good understanding of contract terms, variations, claims, and cost control
  • Experience with standard contract forms is an advantage
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple projects
