Job summary

The ideal candidate will manage contracts, oversee budgeting, and negotiate with subcontractors. A degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of experience are required.

Job description
Overall Responsibilities

Opportunity to work on an iconic and prestigious building project with responsibilities to lead and manage all contracts administration and commercial management functions. Work responsibilities include:

  • Project budgeting, cash flow forecast, monitoring, cost control, track cost risk and budget reporting to management
  • Review and introduce budget controls to ensure procurements are within budget; as well as material wastage guidelines and processes
  • Prepare, review and administer contracts and subcontracts agreements for smooth execution by qualified subcontractors/vendors and to avoid contractual disputes by ensuring key terms and detailed scope are well covered in drafting of agreements
  • Review, supervise and provide guidance to QS team on their measurement work, oversee work relating to subcontractor/vendor tender procurement and verify the progress payment recommendations to subcontractors and on payment requests to Client
  • Negotiate with subcontractors on commercial terms and conditions as well as manage the subcontractors’ claims, variation, final account settlements
  • Manage contractual matters in accordance with contract provision ; and provide contractual advice
  • Establish bases of claim, drafting of contractual correspondences and claim reports for submission to Client.
  • Oversee and resolve time related and cost claims, variation submissions and liaise with clients, consultants and subcontractors for settlement
  • Good experience in claims management or previous work in Claims Consultancy will be a plus
  • Sound understanding of local construction contracts (SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC)
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess strong communication skills and capable of leading a team
  • Self motivated, dependable and able to perform effectively under deadlines.
