Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is looking for a Contract Manager to oversee contract drafting and negotiations. The role requires at least 5 years of experience in the oil & gas or construction industries. Responsibilities include managing contractual matters and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure compliance and minimize risks. Review business contracts with external stakeholders.

  • Work together with Project Management Teams to review contractual matters of the projects, draft and review contract letters, variation orders, settlement agreements and execute meetings and negotiation alongside with Project Management Teams to manage contract variations, disputes, risks, etc.
  • Work together with Procurement to manage subcontracts or purchase orders.
  • Work together with Finance to maintain validity of surety bonds, letters of credit, guarantees to meet the contract requirements.
  • Establish and maintain strong business relationships with customers including effectively managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, and risks; and develop and execute negotiation strategies with customers as required to minimize potential losses and maximize profits for the company.
  • Manage post completion contract matters such responses to client warranty notices, procurement of completion/acceptance certificates.
  • Support/liaise with law firms on legal opinions, or litigation related matters where company is either the claimant or the defendant.
  • Engage relevant internal stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standard and terms and conditions.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties which may be assigned (i.e. Due diligence checks on external stakeholders, research on laws & regulations, etc)
Requirements
  • Degree in recognized university in law / engineering or any other relevant education
  • Minimum of 5 year of drafting or reviewing contract experience in oil & gas or construction industry
  • Excellent writing skills, attentive to details, proactive and organized
