Job description

Singapore's speciality coffee brand Greybox Coffee first established our presence in 2019 and since amassed a loyal following with our diverse coffee and food menu designed to satisfy every craving. Our specialty coffee menu includes single origin pour-overs from Ethiopia, Jamaica and Colombia, as well as a premium Geisha blend from Panama.

Your job responsibilities include:

  • Fully responsible for the daily operation of the kitchen and meal preparation, including tasks such as chopping vegetables, marinating meat, preparing sauces, grilling, frying, and baking
  • Ensure that food items are prepared according to standardized recipes and portion sizes
  • Formulate and optimise the operation process, control costs (food ingredients, manpower, energy consumption, etc.), and improve the profitability of the store
  • Supervise food safety, environmental sanitation and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance
  • Train and manage kitchen team on recipes and SOPs
  • Motivate team members to be enthusiastic about good food and service
  • Develop new dishes every three months and formulate signature dishes
  • Upgrade the existing food menu to secure returning customers and their repurchase rate
  • Analyse business data (turnover, customer unit price, inventory turnover, etc.), submit operation reports regularly and put forward improvement plans
  • Order, receive and store deliveries of food and kitchen supplies
  • Keep track of inventory levels and report on shortages
  • Rotate and organize stock to maintain freshness and prevent waste
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstation
Requirements
  • Ideally with a relevant qualification in Culinary or Hospitality Management
  • Candidates without working experience are welcome
  • 1 year work experience as Commis or Apprentice in relavant cafes or restaurants will be and added advantage
  • Basic culinary skills and good hygiene knowledge
  • Well-groomed with a can-do attitude
  • Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
