Role Overview

The CMM Technician will be responsible for performing precision dimensional inspections using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure product quality and compliance with engineering specifications. This role requires strong practical skills in operating CMM equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and conducting thorough inspections to support production and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections on components and assemblies.
  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain CMM machines to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct first article inspections, in-process checks, and final inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications.
  • Document inspection results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to engineering and production teams.
  • Identify non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain inspection records in accordance with quality management system requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in inspection processes and measurement accuracy.
Job Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience operating CMM machines in a manufacturing or quality environment.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in operating CMM equipment (manual and/or CNC-controlled).
  • Knowledge of CMM software.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.
