What You’ll Do (General Responsibilities)

Responsibilities vary by position, but typically include:

  • Preparing and presenting high-quality dishes according to hotel standards
  • Assisting in menu development, food costing, and kitchen planning (senior roles)
  • Maintaining proper food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures
  • Ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations across assigned stations
  • Training, mentoring, and supporting junior team members
  • Coordinating with service teams to ensure timing, quality, and guest satisfaction
  • Managing inventory, storage, and stock rotation
  • Upholding brand standards and contributing to a positive team culture
Role-Specific Notes

Chef de Partie

  • Manage an assigned section independently
  • Train and guide junior chefs
  • Ensure mise-en-place is always prepared and up to standard

Demi Chef de Partie / Commis Chef

  • Support senior chefs with prep, cooking, plating, and station duties
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and timely execution
