Job Description

Established in 1996, Life Community Services Society is a mid-sized social service agency serving children and youth from low-resourced, vulnerable and at-risk backgrounds. Our vision is for every child to be the best that they can be, through our mission of empowering children and families through care and mentoring.

We are looking for dedicated Caseworkers to join our dynamic Friends of Children & Youth (FOCY) programme team, where we work to support and uplift children and youth from families affected by parental incarceration, as well as engage with their caregivers to provide holistic support. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct intake assessments and client evaluations, and document individualized care plans, case notes, progress updates and closure reports.

  • Provide casework, groupwork and brief counseling or crisis intervention as necessary for clients and their families, including monthly home visits.

  • Assess and prioritize client and caregiver needs, ensuring services are delivered in line with established standards.

  • Collaborate with relevant organizations, healthcare providers, and community partners to address client needs, while empowering clients through resource navigation and skill-building.

  • Facilitate and support child-centred mentoring interventions, including partnering with volunteer mentors to support client care plans.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with organisational policies, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements; participate in quality assurance reviews and audits.

  • Plan and implement programmes or activities for clients, working with external partners or service providers where appropriate.

  • Assist in programme evaluation, data collection, analysis, and reporting to inform service improvements.

  • Train and mentor junior helping professionals or interns, fostering peer-to-peer learning and building competencies in case management, client engagement, and best practices.

Requirements – Experience and Competencies
  • Possess a Graduate Diploma or Degree in Social Work or a related field

  • Min 3 years experience in community work and youth engagement

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to connect genuinely with children and their caregivers.

  • A good team player who can also work independently, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and responsibilities.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support programme objectives.

  • Willingness to travel for home visits
