Job description

Responsibilities

• Overseeing daily cargo handling operations, including stowage planning, terminal activities, and cargo and terminal handling.
• Collaborating with local agents to ensure efficient dispatch and uphold vessel and cargo operations safety standards.
• Identifying and resolving operational issues by working with sales teams, trade teams, local agents, and authorities.
• Monitoring vessel transit and bunkering activities, addressing any challenges to maintain smooth and secure operations.
• Reviewing and issuing stowage plans for various cargo types, such as export, way cargo, and transshipment cargoes.
• Supervising equipment activities and movements, such as roll trailers and tug masters, within the assigned regions.
• Managing cost and tariff control for effective financial management.
• Facilitating expedited vessel dispatch to minimize port costs.
• Coordinating with relevant stakeholders to minimize port and stevedore charges by adjusting vessel ETA when feasible.
• Handling incidents and damages related to vessels and cargo. Providing training to stevedores and suppliers to maintain high cargo safety and quality levels.
• Any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• RORO operation experience is a MUST
• Proper knowledge of the maritime industry and practical experience as on-board work or similar experiences.
• Demonstrated understanding of vessel operations, cargo handling, and logistics procedures.
• Ability to optimize vessel and cargo operations in the port and establish harmonious relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions while mitigating risks.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills and proficiency in administrative tasks.
• Strong leadership qualities and strategic thinking to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in IT computer skills, particularly MS Office programs, for handling administrative tasks effectively.
