Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our footprint in the food & beverage industry. The ideal candidate will identify business opportunities, build strong partnerships with suppliers and clients, and implement strategies to increase revenue and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Sales
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets in food retail, wholesale, and B2B channels.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and distribution networks.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals with food suppliers, restaurants, supermarkets, and corporate clients.
2. Market Development
- Conduct market research to identify consumer trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the food industry.
- Expand product reach into new markets (domestic and international) through innovative business models.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to launch promotions, campaigns, and brand visibility activities.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Develop loyalty programs and solutions tailored for foodservice operators, catering businesses, and institutional buyers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts.
4. Strategy & Planning
- Work with management to develop short- and long-term business plans for food products and services.
- Analyze performance metrics (sales reports, margins, cost control) to measure success.
- Provide recommendations on pricing strategies, new product development, and channel expansion.
5. Operations & Compliance
- Ensure all business development activities comply with food safety regulations (SFA, NEA, HACCP, ISO standards, etc.).
- Collaborate with supply chain, logistics, and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor stock levels, vendor contracts, and operational costs to maximize profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Food Technology, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in food & beverage, food service, or FMCG sector.
- Strong knowledge of the Singapore F&B market and regulations (e.g., SFA licensing).
- Proven track record in sales growth, partnerships, and market expansion.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and networking skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel locally and regionally when required.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with food import/export, distribution networks, and retail channel development.
- Experience in managing B2B accounts (hotels, restaurants, catering services, supermarkets).
- Understanding of digital platforms, e-commerce, and online food delivery trends.
