Business Development & Partnership Manager
Role Overview
The Business Development & Partnership Manager will play a key role in expanding WPL’s business footprint, building sustainable relationships with insurance and investment partners, and driving client acquisition strategies within the framework of MAS regulations.
This position requires strong relationship management skills, commercial acumen, and a deep understanding of the Singapore financial advisory landscape. The ideal candidate will be proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment with regional exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key insurance and investment product providers.
- Coordinate product onboarding and due diligence processes with compliance and operations teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms, ensure alignment with WPL’s value proposition, and maintain a competitive product suite.
- Serve as the primary liaison between WPL and external partners for new initiatives, joint events, and co-marketing campaigns.
Business Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the Singapore and regional HNW markets.
- Work closely with financial adviser representatives to support sales enablement and product education.
- Develop and execute marketing and distribution strategies consistent with regulatory guidelines (e.g. MAS FAA).
- Contribute to the design of referral and client engagement programs, ensuring compliance with cross-border rules.
Market & Channel Development
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify emerging opportunities.
- Establish strategic alliances with complementary service providers (law firms, trust companies, family offices).
- Support WPL’s participation in seminars, forums, and other professional networking platforms.
Collaboration & Execution
- Liaise with the Beijing headquarters and regional teams to ensure strategic alignment and brand consistency.
- Partner with Compliance and Operations to ensure all business initiatives meet MAS and internal governance standards.
- Prepare regular reports on business pipeline, partnership performance, and growth metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in business development, distribution, or partnership management within insurance or wealth management.
- Prior exposure to financial advisory, insurance brokerage, or HNW client segments preferred.
- Strong understanding of MAS regulations and Singapore’s financial advisory framework.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
- CMFAS certification (M5, M9, M9A, HI) preferred or willing to obtain within 6 months.
