About the Role:

Brighton College (Singapore) is seeking to recruit a compassionate, skilled, and forward-thinking School Counsellor who will play a central role in supporting the emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing of pupils across the Prep and Senior Schools to join our expanding school community from January 2026. The post-holder will provide high-quality 1:1 counselling, deliver targeted interventions, and contribute to the development of a proactive and embedded culture of wellbeing.

What you will be doing:

  • Provides counselling to pupils aged 3-18 across the college.
  • Establishes positive, safe, and trusting relationships with pupils, their families, and teachers.
  • Works and liaises closely with pastoral and safeguarding leaders across the college to further develop and implement the counselling provision and support structures for the senior school and prep school.
  • Serves as a case manager for pupils receiving support.
  • Regularly assesses pupils’ social-emotional needs within the school environment.
  • Manages a counselling caseload by maintaining accurate, confidential, and systematic records using our existing internal systems (ISAMS and CPOMS).
  • Provides social and emotional interventions to individual pupils and groups by liaising with the pastoral leadership team.
  • Contributes to the college’s programme of wellbeing initiatives. Including collaborating with key stakeholders to share expertise to support the social and emotional development of the pupils.
  • Provides a confidential avenue for identifying and responding to potential threats to child safety.
  • Assumes a key role on school-wide crisis response teams.
  • Documents communication and events surrounding child protection issues and coordinates with administration and external agencies as needed.
  • Upholds the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Undertakes any other reasonable management requests in support of the school’s mission, vision and values.

Who we are looking for:

  • A degree in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • A recognised counselling qualification.
  • Exemplifies the Brighton College (Singapore) values of Curiosity, Confidence and Kindness.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to support and streamline efficient and accurate record keeping.
  • Displays strong counselling skills, confidentiality and professional judgement.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with children and/or young people.
  • Fluency in Mandarin (preferred).
  • Qualification or experience of offering professional supervision to colleagues.
  • An international outlook and understanding of working in diverse environments.
