Bioinformatics Specialist (BDMED)

Job Category: Research

You will play a pivotal role in the SingHealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine (BD-MED), whereby the institute’s focus is on discovering active natural products extracted from local herbs; to investigate the potential of natural products in cancer therapeutics and bringing benefits to human health, through interdisciplinary collaboration including expertise in genomic, cell biology and bioinformatics. The incumbent will be mainly assist with compiling protein receptor libraries with a senior computational structural biologist and will perform job duties including, but not limited to, assist experimental biologist to model protein structure of interest, implement bioinformatics tools and other related computational services.

Responsibilities
  • Build bioinformatic pipeline, perform homology modeling, well-established Gaussian calculation, energy minimization and molecular docking.
  • Perform data quality control to ensure clean and accurate data for further AI/ML model development.
Requirements
  • Master or Bachelor of Science in computational biology.
  • Report writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Programming skills (python preferred).
  • Experience in modelling and MD simulations preferred.
  • Team player, strong collaborator.
  • Independent worker, possess initiative to complete tasks and projects assigned.
