We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Barista & Shop Manager to join our beverage operations team. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of coffee extraction techniques, milk texturing, sensory calibration, and the preparation of a wide range of pre-batched or pre-prepared beverages (such as cold brew, matcha, house‑made syrups, and non‑coffee drinks).

The ideal candidate is both technically proficient and guest‑focused, with a passion for delivering consistently excellent products in a high‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute precise preparation of espresso‑based beverages, including calibration of grinders, daily dial‑ins, shot profiling, and milk steaming to specialty standards (SCA‑level preferred).
  • Prepare and batch cold and hot beverages such as matcha lattes, cold brew, teas, smoothies, seasonal drinks, and functional beverages, adhering to standardized recipes and SOPs.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers) and perform basic preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in the R&D and seasonal development of beverages, including the creation of signature drinks or improvements to existing menu items.
  • Maintain mise en place for beverage stations, including fresh stock of garnishes, syrups, bases, and cleaning supplies.
  • Engage with guests, delivering product knowledge and recommendations based on customer preferences, dietary requirements, or curiosity.
  • Ensure all drinks meet internal quality control, consistency, and aesthetic presentation guidelines before service.
  • Assist in inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and waste minimization.
  • Adhere to hygiene and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with food safety and local regulatory requirements.
  • Support cross‑functional team operations when needed, including POS operations, guest service, or basic floor duties during peak hours.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a specialty coffee shop or hospitality environment with a focus on coffee and beverage execution.
  • Strong technical knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, brew methods (V60, French press, Aeropress, batch brew), milk chemistry, and sensory evaluation.
  • Hands‑on experience with cold brew systems, pre‑batching techniques, matcha preparation, and beverage R&D.
  • Understanding of beverage scaling, shelf life, HACCP practices, and batch consistency control.
  • Ability to calibrate grinders and adjust brew ratios, TDS, and extraction times.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi‑task and manage high‑volume beverage production with accuracy and speed.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with a team‑first mindset.
  • Barista certifications (SCA Barista Skills, Latte Art, Brewing Foundation/Intermediate) are a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualities
  • Creative thinker with an eye for flavor balance and drink innovation.
  • Passionate about specialty coffee, beverage culture, and hospitality excellence.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with working hours, including weekends and holidays.

Location: Based in [41 Kreta Ayer], with rotational assignments across multiple outlets to support beverage implementation and training.
