Responsibilities

• Follow existing recipes measure, weigh and prepare ingredients
• Bake different bread types, like sourdough, gluten free bread
• Mix various ingredients to create jams and fillings
• Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machine and other baking equipment
• Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards
• Clean kitchen equipment and tools before and after use
• Display bakery items and products on the shelves and counters
• Replenish and refill display counters with fresh stocks of bakery items
• Answer queries from customers and assist in making recommendations according to customers’ needs
• Assist with stock check and cashiering duties
• Basic housekeeping to ensure that store is clean and professional looking

Requires Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
• Experience with gluten free, refined sugar free and vegan baking a plus
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
• Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and food safety precautions and regulation
• Can work on Weekends & Public Holidays
