About the team

The Recommendation Architecture Team builds and optimizes the architecture for TikTok’s recommendation system, ensuring a stable and engaging experience for users. We cover almost all short‑text recommendation scenarios—including search suggestions, the video‑related search bar, and comment entities—and support personalized sorting, query optimization and overall search awareness.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high‑performance online services for the TikTok recommendation system.
• Build extremely efficient and reliable data pipelines for candidate generation, profile generation, training example generation, real‑time online training, and related tasks.
• Build a globalized, large‑scale recommendation system.
• Design and develop high‑performance computing frameworks and storage systems.
• Applicants must have a current right to work in Singapore and do not require TikTok sponsorship of a visa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 1 year of experience building scalable systems.
• Experience programming in at least one of the following languages: C, C++, Java or Golang.
• Effective communication skills, with a sense of ownership and drive.
• Experience in personalized recommendations, search engines, machine learning, distributed storage systems, or big‑data frameworks is a plus.
