Job description
Responsibilities
Technical Expertise
  • Support the planning and execution of banking channel system implementation projects involving multiple IT and non-IT departments across Tokyo and Singapore to strengthen banking IT capabilities.
  • Provide expertise to regional teams and foster collaboration with stakeholders in the Japan Head Office.
  • Support project specific new joiner activities, training facilitation and tracking.
  • Support project specific hardware / tools / facility tracking and management, including any procurement coordination.
Risk and Control
  • Provide timely escalation and resolution of major issues to Management and Head Office.
  • Report status, issues, SLA, KPI and other project metrics.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Serve as liaison between end users and IT team in local market and Japan Head Office to understand business requirements for Forex systems, including designing and implemention of new solutions or enhancements.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams, leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with IT Planning dept to ensure alignment of all company platform's architecture processes, standards, strategies and roadmap with that of JRI and or SMBC Group
  • Collaborate with Japan Head Office to establish internal control in which an entity is managed and governed.
Project & Other Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing project governance documentation and reporting artifacts.
  • Assist in detailed work planning and tracking.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with established processes, standards, templates and tool usage.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent with around 3 years of experience to provide IT service to a Financial Institute.
  • Knowledge in cash management service, and remittance service of banks.
  • Knowledge in payment services in APAC regions.
  • Proficiency in Japanese is preferred as this role needs to prepare reports in Japanese for reporting to Head Office in Japan. This role also needs to present and communicate with senior stakeholders who mainly communicate in Japanese.
  • Experience to handle regional projects which involves stakeholders in Japan.
  • Experience in IT system development project management and delivery service in large organization
  • Proven experience in collaboration and workgroup for project delivery
  • Strong coordination skills - Effectively manage scheduling, follow-ups, and tracking of project activities.
  • Experience in internal control or audit area with a deep understanding of the IT business process and systems.
  • Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) or equivalent experiences
  • Knowledge of IT service business for bank or FI.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of system development lifecycle.
  • Proactively socialize with stakeholders and maintain good relationship to steer tasks.
  • Possess strong and assertive verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Good bi-directional and collaborative attitude in order to work as a professional in a team.
