What impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of the GIC’s internal investment function where we award investment directives to external fund managers whose ability complements our own capabilities. The Equities team in External Managers oversees equity hedge strategies and benchmark relative portfolios across various geographies globally.

You will be given the opportunity to partner with outstanding investment managers to capture market opportunities around the world. Our investment discussions reflect an outstanding flow of ideas and insights that can only come with our scale and reach. We also develop strategic relationships with the investment industry to benefit GIC at large.

What will you do as an Equities Portfolio Manager with External Managers?

  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses on individual fund managers and a portfolio of managers of predominantly equity strategies [long only and equity hedge funds]
  • Work with portfolio managers on sourcing, hiring, and monitoring of managers
  • Contribute to market level analysis including monitoring markets, factors and other relevant investment metrics

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • At least 6 years of capital market experience
  • Excellent analytical ability and strong communication skills in English
  • Be highly motivated and adept at multi‑tasking
  • An independent thinker who is able to articulate his / her views well, both in verbal and written form
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to communicate independently with the team and with external counterparties
