We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Automation Developer to lead and govern a complex delivery portfolio for a leading financial institution’s trading systems.
You will own end-to-end delivery for three interrelated scopes: BPM engine migration (Camunda • Activiti), internationalization (i18n) enablement across ~150 HTML pages, and test suite stabilization/automation (~100 cases). The role blends delivery governance, stakeholder management, engineering oversight, and rigorous acceptance management to meet contract milestones, service quality, and cost goals.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership & Governance
- Own the delivery plan, milestones, and dependencies across BPM migration, i18n enablement, and test automation; maintain a single, integrated schedule and RAID log.
- Govern scope, budget, risks, and quality; drive timely sign‑offs (requirements, UAT regression & performance).
- Enforce acceptance criteria (e.g., 100% UAT regression on Activiti, consistent regression outcomes for automated tests, and i18n business sign‑off).
- Ensure adherence to client agreements (SOW, SLAs/acceptance), and manage fee‑reduction risks by proactively steering critical path tasks.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Serve as primary point of contact for business, technology owners, and testing leaders; facilitate workshops and decision forums.
- Coordinate internal squads (Developers P2, Automation Testers P3) and client teams; align delivery cadence with change windows/UAT cycles.
- Secure required environments, network/server access, and logistics for pre‑UAT and cutover; orchestrate operational readiness.
Engineering Oversight
- Oversee Camunda→Activiti migration approach and execution, ensuring workflow parity and successful live job migration.
- Guide i18n implementation (extract static content, apply placeholders; drive efficiency standards for adding new language files).
- Direct test automation design, mocking strategies to decouple external dependencies, and flakiness reduction; institute CI pipelines and quality gates.
Quality, Compliance & Controls
- Define test strategy (functional, regression, performance) and non-functional criteria; ensure defect triage and closure.
- Uphold information security, change management, and auditability (traceability, peer reviews, documentation).
Reporting & Commercials
- Provide executive dashboards (milestone burn‑down, quality metrics, cost vs. plan).
- Manage invoicing milestones (contract signing, requirements completion, final sign‑off) and support change requests and variances.
Qualifications
Must‑Have
- 6+ years in service delivery, program, or project management for enterprise applications in financial services/trading.
- Proven track record delivering multi-stream technical programs (platform migration, web application changes, and test automation).
- Hands‑on familiarity with BPM/workflow engines (e.g., Camunda, Activiti) and their migration considerations (process models, job migration, regression parity).
- Experience leading enablement for web applications (string externalization, placeholder frameworks, locale testing).
- Strong test management and automation oversight (framework selection, mocking strategies, CI/CD, flakiness reduction).
- Excellent stakeholder management with senior business & technology leaders; vendor/contract governance experience.
- Solid grasp of SDLC, DevOps, change and release management, and production cutover planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Exposure to capital markets trading systems.
- Experience with performance testing and non-functional requirements for trading workloads.
Key Skills
Technical & Delivery
- BPM migration strategy, process parity validation, and live job cutover.
- Web application: content externalization, placeholder frameworks, locale packs.
- Test automation leadership: framework governance (e.g., Java/Selenium/Playwright), mocking/stubbing, CI pipelines, and flakiness reduction.
- Quality engineering & acceptance: regression, performance, reliability, and traceability.
Leadership & Communication
- Executive‑level communication; crisp status, risk narratives, and decision memos.
- Negotiation and conflict resolution across business, engineering, and vendors.
- Analytical problem‑solving; data‑driven delivery steering.
