Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in Singapore is looking for an Electrical and Control Design Engineer. You will be responsible for designing control systems for electrical machines, creating schematics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has a degree in electrical engineering and at least 4 years of experience in this field. This role offers a competitive salary of $4,000 - $5,500 and is based in Woodlands, Singapore.

Job description
Electrical and Control Design Engineer

Salary: $4,000 - $5,500

Working Day: Monday – Friday
Working Hour: 8:30am - 5:30pm
Working Location: Woodlands Ave (Nearest MRT: Admiralty)

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop machines control systems, with motion controller, robot, PLCs, HMIs, and servo drives.
  • Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.
  • Program and configure control systems to meet specific project requirements.
  • Source and select control components based on project specifications.
  • Execute control system setup, including IO system configuration, servo and step drive setup, and axis tuning. Ensure the proper functioning and integration of control components.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of control systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate control systems into larger machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training to manufacturing and maintenance teams.
  • Participate in project planning, including cost estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve control system designs.
Requirements
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Min 4 years of experience in designing and implementing control systems for electrical machines.
  • Proficiency in programming PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives.
  • Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, E3, EPLAN).
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, electrical circuits, and automation.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, NEC).
