What the role is

The Environmental Health Institute (EHI), a research arm of the National Environment Agency (NEA), conducts multi-disciplinary scientific research that translates into evidence-based public health programmes and policies. We are seeking a dynamic professional to drive procurement projects within our scientific research environment.

What you will be working on

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Work closely with EHI's scientific Divisions and NEA’s corporate services to develop and implement strategic procurement approaches that effectively support EHI’s scientific research operations
  • Prepare, review, and manage procurement contracts for laboratory facilities setup, addition & alteration works, facilities management, laboratory equipment, laboratory consumables and outsourced services
  • Provide advice on government procurement policies and procedures to end-users
  • Implement digital solutions to enhance contract management efficiency and payment workflows
  • Utilise data analytics tools to conduct trend analysis, monitor spending patterns, and generate insights for strategic procurement decisions.
What we are looking for
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant procurement work experience in scientific/research facilities, preferably in laboratory operations and quality management
  • Familiar with government procurement policies and procedures
  • Experience in Public Sector Standard Conditions of Contract (PSSCOC) and Quality Fee Method (QFM) preferred
  • Organised and meticulous
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management abilities
