Qualifications

Assistant Project Engineer (Marine, Aluminium Boats) – Singapore

About Us

Five Aluminium Boat & Engineering Pte Ltd is a specialist aluminium boat builder based in Singapore. Our main production factory is in Singapore, supported by an annex factory in Kulai, Johor (Five Aluminium Boat Sdn Bhd). We design and build workboats, patrol boats and custom aluminium craft for commercial and government customers.


We are looking for a Singapore-based Assistant Project Engineer to support our team in procurement, production coordination and QC reporting.


Responsibilities



  • Assist in procurement of marine materials and equipment:




    • Aluminium plates and extrusions




    • Marine fittings and hardware




    • Engines, controls, steering, coatings and accessories






  • Prepare RFQs, collect quotations and do simple price comparison for management.




  • Issue and follow up on Purchase Orders (POs) and delivery dates.




  • Coordinate production progress in our Singapore factory:




    • Update project and production schedules




    • Follow up with supervisors on daily/weekly progress




    • Prepare simple progress reports with photos






  • Support QC inspection and reporting:




    • Use checklists to inspect materials, fabrication and final boats




    • Record measurements, photos and non-conformances




    • Organise QC and project documents






  • Liaise with our annex factory in Kulai, Johor where necessary for specific work or components (mainly via WhatsApp/email; occasional short visits only if required).




Requirements



  • Polytechnic Diploma in Marine Engineering (preferred), or related field (Marine & Offshore / Mechanical / Manufacturing).




  • 0–3 years working experience; fresh graduates are welcome.




  • Able to read engineering drawings (2D).




  • Comfortable working in a factory / workshop environment.




  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).




  • Good communication skills in English; Mandarin/Malay is an advantage.




  • Experience with aluminium boat building will be an added advantage.




  • Responsible, willing to learn, and able to follow up on multiple tasks.
