Job summary

A community care organization in Singapore is seeking a dedicated individual for facility maintenance. Responsibilities include checking drainage, conducting maintenance on building services, and managing inventory. Job description
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Estate Maintenance
    • Perform weekly checks to ensure that the drainage around the garden and within the Home is cleared of all debris and stagnant water

    • Check and ensure that work or job performed by vendors and contractors are performed in an orderly manner or according to the proposed specifications and requirements

    • Liaise with the pest control contractor to ensure that all areas and potential pest breeding grounds are treated to prevent infestation, especially mosquito breeding, rodents and birds.

    • Perform weekly checks to ensure that all landscape signages, lighting, schedule timers and power points are in good working condition.

  • Equipment and Building Maintenance
    • Perform daily walk through and checks, for predictive and preventive maintenance of all building services including wheelchair and other equipment of the residences. E.g. kitchen equipment, fire protection system, ceiling hoist, nurse call system, offices, card access system, CCTV system, PA system, lifts, genset, AH gym equipment, server room and reception counter.

    • Maintenance of nursing equipment and to ensure all licenses are valid and to monitor expiry dates e.g. autoclave, oxygen concentrator, nebulizer and air compressor (gym and dental).

    • Prepare and arrange rooms in the Home for meetings, functions and seminars.

    • First line attendant to all equipment malfunction or breakdown and to discuss or recommend remedy to close case.

    • Attend to all fault reports and record them in fault report form for follow up repair or spare parts purchase.

  • Inventory Management
    • Assist the Senior Executive – Operations in asset movement and labelling of assets

    • Assist in space management and condemnation of items

    • Assist the senior executive in ordering spare parts and monitor stock inventory of the tools and spare parts of the maintenance stores.

  • Others
    • Cover the security and customer service duties of the security officer or Assistant – Admin in his/her absence.

    • Cover driving and dispatch duties in the absence of Driver if the incumbent had valid driving license.

    • Participation as a member of the Home’s Fire Safety Committee.

    • To carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Executive – Operations, Senior Manager – Operations or Head of Centre.

    • To perform regular check and housekeeping of company vehicles when required.

    • Assist the Senior Executive – Operations / Driver where required in management, delivery and/or collection of goods and donations

    • Assist the Storekeeper where required in inventory management e.g. receiving stocks, weekly distribution of supplies to wards if any.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Primary School Education (candidates with secondary school or higher education will be an added advantage)

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in Preventive & Corrective maintenance and minor Building services repair work like repair of building fabric like walls, doors and windows and etc

  • Possess valid Class 3 Driving License is preferred

  • Basic Computer literacy is preferred e.g. excel, words, pdf, power point and sending / replying of email.

  • Can converse and communicate well in English language
