Overview

Singapore Chinese Dance Theatre is a professional dance company supported by the National Arts Council under the Major Company Scheme. As part of its outreach initiatives, the company conducts dance education and training programmes in schools, community settings, and at two centres located in East Coast and Toa Payoh.

The Operations & Admin Manager oversees the overall operations of the centres, including teaching quality, staff management, and business performance. This role ensures smooth daily operations, high teaching standards, strong stakeholder relationships, and sustainable enrolment growth.

Key Responsibilities:

For In-house Training Courses

a) Oversee and ensure the smooth daily operation of SCDT training centres, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate the deployment of instructors and admin staff;
  • Liaise with students and parents regarding their child’s progression and centre matters;
  • Work closely with instructors to attract and retain customers;
  • Manage to ensure all fee payments and follow up on fee arrears;
  • Manage to ensure good records of inventory (props & attires); and
  • Assist in processing payments to instructors.

b) Ensure best practices to ensure the safety, security and well-being of students.

c) Set student enrolment targets and profi t goals, ensure the achievement of targets and goals.

d) Collaborate with management and senior ONE Artiste in the development of policies, and implement appropriate mechanisms for the success of programmes and curriculums.

e) Improve SOPs for the team in operational, finance and administrative areas to continually driving work excellence in these areas.

f) Ensure proper procedure and documentation of all student enrolments & withdrawals, movement of inventory, instructor claims, etc.

g) Work with strategy for the promotion and awareness of the courses.

For School and Community Outreach Programme

h) Oversee and ensure the smooth execution of programmes (Co-curricular Activities, Enrichments, Arts Educational Programme, including but not limited to:

  • Coordinate the deployment of instructors;
  • Liaise with schools and organisations regarding programme matters;
  • Work closely with instructors to deliver programmes that meet customers’ expectations; and
  • Assist in fee collection and processing payments to instructors

i) Collaborate with management in the development of policies, and implement appropriate mechanisms for the success of programmes.

j) Improve SOPs for the team in operational, finance and administrative areas to continually driving work excellence in these areas.

k) Ensure proper procedure and documentation of number of students, instructor claims, etc.

For Other Company Programme

l) Assist in the planning and execution of the Company’s events;

Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Education, Business Management, or related fields;
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in education, tuition centre operations, or service management;
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred;
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Comfortable handling parents, staff, and students professionally with good spoken and written proficiency in English and Chinese Language due to stakeholders;
  • Proficient in administrative systems and basic financial tracking;
  • Ability to work evenings and both weekends as required;
