Job summary

A leading marine engineering company in Singapore is looking for an experienced engineering professional to manage the Diesel workshop for vessel repairs. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering and 5-7 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include overseeing engine overhauls, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and guiding a team of engineers. The position offers a 5-day work week with island-wide transport provided.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of working experience in yard or OEMs for diesel engines.
  • Able to handle multiple projects for engine repairs and overhauls.
  • Familiarity with Engine Warranty, Claims and Job Acceptance processes.

  • Ensure effective and productive engine overhaul processes.
  • Monitor engineer compliance with engine protocols and workshop handbook.
  • Oversee projects to achieve deadlines and quality assurance.
  • Implement yard safety regulations and promote safety awareness.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for day to day Diesel workshop management for repairs of commercial/ naval vessels
  • Ensure engine overhaul processes are carried out effectively and productively in order to meet customer specifications and requirements
  • Monitor and guide engineers and technicians to ensure they are strictly compliant to respective engine protocols, Critical Process Inspection (CPI), task sheets and processes stated in Diesel workshop handbook
  • To oversee department overall projects to achieve engine delivery deadlines, targets and quality assurance.
  • Strictly implement yard safety regulations and promote safety awareness by leading as role model
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
  • Preferably 5-7 years of working experiences in yard or OEMs for diesel engines
  • Able to perform troubleshooting on pneumatic, hydraulic, piping and basic electrical system with minimum guidance
  • Able to handle mutliple projects for engine repairs and overhauls
  • Knowledge on Engine overhauling and applied mechanics
  • Familiarity with Engine Warranty, Claims and Job Acceptance related processes
  • Able to supervise a team in both workshop and onboard vessels

  • Working Hours: 7.25am-5pm
