JOB POSTING – ASSISTANT MANAGER, COMMUNICATIONS.
We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Communications to help steward and strengthen the organisation’s image and reputation by shaping clear, compelling and consistent narratives across all audiences and stakeholders. As a core pillar within the Marketing team, Communications plays a critical role in advancing brand strategy—building awareness, trust, affinity and advocacy for Esplanade’s vision, mission and strategic pillars.
You are a specialist in one or more of the following areas:
- Public relations, strategic communications and media/influencer relations,
- Voice of customer management,
- Copywriting and long-form writing and editing for brand collaterals and corporate publications,
- Content production and strategy for digital and social media channels (especially for LinkedIn).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand and stakeholder communications
- Research, write and/or edit all corporate communications materials for various target groups including media
- Pitch stories, field enquiries and draft replies to media
- Manage press conferences and events
- Develop and build relations with media and government agencies through regular communications
- Assist with influencer relations and events where needed
- Maintain and update media and government contacts database
- Media monitoring and analysis
- Updating/vetting of corporate communications materials
- Plan and manage the centre’s crisis communications
- Produce Esplanade’s Annual Report giving an overview of the previous financial year to all stakeholders
Voice of Customer management
- Implement market/audience research, analyse gain insights and understanding of customer behaviour / sentiments towards the brand and our services, and also provide follow-through, reporting and recommendations where appropriate.
- Monitor Net Promoter Score (NPS) and Customer Satisfaction levels (CSAT) to identify opportunities and make recommendations for improvements, so as to uncover affinity, top of mind and advocacy of our brand in the minds of consumers (audiences, artists, hirers, general visitors, etc).
- Monitor and vet all feedback replies received from various touchpoints including website (Contact Us), corporate email inboxes (various departments), post-event surveys (performances, tour and learning journeys from schools and public, artist & hirer feedback).
Brand and Content Strategy
- Support brand strategy in management and implementation of brand campaign and content creation.
- Support media strategy through formulating and executing engaging and relevant narratives, content and messaging in traditional and digital platforms, including Esplanade’s corporate social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn).
- Conceptualise and drive content strategy and campaigns, identify appropriate channels and manage content partnerships with the aim of raising brand awareness, engagement and advocacy.
- Keep pace with developments in analytics and data management in order to finetune content and social strategy.
- Support management of external vendors and agencies where needed.
- Copywriting/editing and content production
- Create and edit content across different formats and channels, including print and digital platforms (social, EDM and web).
- Conceptualise and storyboard brand-related video content where needed for web and social media, working with internal teams and external creatives.
- Ensure the accuracy of facts, the justifiability and fairness of all statements of opinion, and timeliness of delivery for all published content.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- University Degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field of Arts & Social Sciences
- At least three to four years relevant working experience
- Solid creative writing and communication skills in English are essential for this job
- An ability to write for different audiences.
- A general knowledge of the arts is important, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good interpersonal skills and bilingual ability – fluency in an Asian language alongside English – are an advantage, as is previous experience in an arts or cultural institution.
- Salary Range: $4,000 - $4,500
