Job summary

Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Attend to telephone enquiries and walk-in customers. Liaise with clients, intermediaries, surveyors/adjustors, handling agents, overseas Principals and TM Group of Companies.
  • Manage correspondence and attend meetings with clients/intermediaries when required.
  • Upon claims notification, gather relevant customers' details, arrange surveys and contact settling agents if needed.
  • Create claim files/checklist and check policy/reinsurance/treaty arrangements before confirming underwriting acceptance with TM Group of Companies.
  • Send Acknowledgment Letter and request necessary claims documents from clients/intermediaries.
  • Prepare and dispatch PLA/Cash-Call Advice; follow up with reinsurers for payments.
  • Draft LLA/MLR for approval and ensure reserves are timely and accurate.
  • Maintain and review diary dates of 'live' files and ensure proper bring-up dates before archiving.
  • Verify premium payment before processing claims and liaise with Finance on payment delays.
  • Forward claims with strong recovery prospects to Claims Recovery Agents and actively follow up on recovery action.
  • Update records for exceptional claims (e.g. ex-gratia payments, large losses) and related recoveries.
  • Review and escape claims exceeding authority to HOD/Senior Management for approval before notifying Customers, Settling Agents, etc.
  • Review files regularly, compile monthly/quarterly statistics as needed
  • Conduct UAT for Marine Claims module.
  • Carry out duties assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree holders in Insurance, Maritime Studies or related discipline;
  • Preferably ACII/AAII, CGI qualifications or relevant insurance equivalent;
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office application;
  • Relevant experience will be an added advantage;
  • Possess good interpersonal and communications skills;
  • Able to multi-task, is a team player, conscientious, tactful, customer-focused and willingness to learn new skills.
