Job Description
Join Ley Choon Group as an Assistant Engineer and take charge of the quality standards that build Singapore's infrastructure. We are seeking a proactive professional to lead rigorous material testing, pioneer bitumen R&D formulations, and provide critical technical support to our plant and site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Laboratory Testing & Material Analysis: Perform bitumen testing from collection to preparation using specialized equipment (Penetrometer, Viscometer, Softening Point, Ductilometer, RTFO, and DSR). Monitor and inspect the quality of aggregates, bitumen and asphalt premix.
- R&D and Formulation: Assist in laboratory Research & Development by formulating and modifying bitumen recipes with base bitumen, polymers and other additives to meet project requirements.
- QC Documentation & Coordination: Prepare, check and email QC test reports for in‑house and project teams. Manage third‑party laboratory forms and coordinate with the Site QC team regarding sample requirements.
- Operational & Admin Support: Ensure worker training compliance and maintain training records. Handle administrative duties including raising Purchase Requests (PR) for consumables/equipment and assisting managers with daily operational tasks.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Degree, Diploma or ITE qualification in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemical Process or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of relevant working experience in material testing, quality control or laboratory‑based environments is preferred.
- Highly meticulous and detail‑oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality standards.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Capable of performing effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic work environment.
