Assistant Director/Senior Manager, Centre for Biomedical Ethics (2‑year renewable contract)

Job Description
  • Develop and track a 3‑year plan that includes horizon scanning, scenario analysis, and strategic and tactical implementation.
  • Own budgeting (forecasting to year‑end close), ensuring compliant procurement, value‑for‑money contracts, cycle‑time tracking, funder reporting, and staff cost recovery.
  • Lead and develop the admin team, clarifying roles/workflows; managing performance; overseeing hiring, onboarding, renewals, handovers, exits; conducting manpower planning and succession; partnering with HR on reviews/promotions.
  • Maintain risk registers and internal controls, ensuring compliance with finance, HR, procurement, data protection, and IT security, closing audit findings, and briefing leadership on key risks.
  • Champion LLMs and Microsoft 365 tools (Copilot, Power Automate) to automate workflows, improve reporting, deliver continuous improvement, and upskill the team.
  • Oversee UG/PG and CET programme support, building infrastructure for the Medical Humanities Hub and for mandatory professional ethics education nationally.
  • Serve as CBmE’s operational point‑of‑contact with NUS Medicine, NUHS, MOH, donors, and partners.
