What the role is

The Rehabilitation & Social Mobility (RSM) Policy Directorate develops strategies, policies and programmes which deliver stability, self-reliance and social mobility for lower-income families; protect individuals and families from abuse and neglect or problem gambling; and rehabilitate individuals from social dysfunction. The Social Mobility and Service Integration Division (SMI) oversees policies that provide social support and improve service delivery to lower-income groups. Our division focuses on individuals or families facing financial difficulty, with multiple needs, with the aim of supporting them towards achieving stability, self-reliance, and social mobility over time.

What you will be working on

You will be part of a dynamic team that drives problem solving in social policy and service delivery through data analytics. You will be involved in the following areas of work:

  • Coordinate and develop the research and analytics agenda within SMI to support policymaking and programmes.
  • Conduct research and analysis relating to social support for lower income households.
  • Work with academics, consultants and various stakeholders on selected projects, including development of reports to inform key decision makers and public on our work on supporting lower-income households in Singapore.
  • Support SMI’s business units in data requests to meet policy/strategy needs, including ensuring data quality and cleanliness.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance and management needs, including documentation of datasets.
What we are looking for
  • At least 5 years of relevant work experience, including undertaking supervisory roles, will be an advantage.
  • Strong in quantitative methods and application, and skilled in using statistical software (R, Python, Stata, SPSS etc.).
  • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with good project management skills.
  • Ability to understand the business environment and identify business problem statements.
  • Knowledge in data governance and database management/systems will be an advantage. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified within 4 weeks from the closing date of this position.
