What The Role Is

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Director to lead learning and organisation development initiatives that drive organisation transformation and competency‑building, in order to ensure NAC is an agile, resilient and high‑performing organisation, able to deliver our mission and strategic objectives, whilst ensuring staff are engaged and feel their well‑being is well taken care of.

What You Will Be Working On
Oversee Learning and Development (L&D)
  • Lead the Learning and Development team to map out and implement NAC’s training roadmap to support NAC’s goal to be a competency‑driven organisation.
  • Improve the data‑collation and reporting process of training statistics to provide more real‑time training insights in support of NAC’s competency‑driven growth journey.
  • Design and implement strategies to encourage staff to complete mandatory trainings in priority areas in a positive manner.
  • Design and implement a strategy to encourage staff to take greater ownership of their career development – e.g. short‑term immersion programmes, gigs, rotations.
Strategic Organisation Development
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, especially the senior leadership team to design and implement organisation‑wide transformation strategies that align with business objectives and enhance organisational capacity.
  • Diagnose organisation issues from the Employee Engagement Survey results and other diagnostic tools.
  • Identify improvement opportunities, develop and implement targeted intervention plans that address systemic challenges and leverage organisational strengths.
  • Build Leadership Team Effectiveness by designing and facilitating leadership retreats, team‑building interventions, targeting areas of growth such as cohesiveness, communication, psychological safety, etc.
  • Drive internal communications of organisation transformation efforts.
Change Management
  • Champion change initiatives by developing and executing change management frameworks that ensure successful adoption and sustainability.
  • Create communication strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, and resistance management approaches that facilitate smooth transitions whilst maintaining operational effectiveness.
Process and Culture Enhancement
  • Analyse and redesign ways of working within and between teams to eliminate silos, improve collaboration, and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Develop cultural transformation initiatives that promote innovation, accountability, and high performance whilst maintaining employee engagement and wellbeing.
What We Are Looking For
  • An interest in the arts and a belief in the value of the arts in society.
  • At least 8 years of working experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong grounding and experience in applying Organisation Development fundamentals – e.g. use of self, groups and teams, systems & change, intervention design.
  • Strong analytical and systems thinking, especially in the use of data.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, stakeholder engagement skills with a capacity to translate complex concepts into actionable strategies.
  • Highly adaptable to change and ambiguity, comfort with discomfort, positive and resilient individual.
  • Familiarity with Workday Cumulus system will be beneficial.
  • A proactive and independent worker, yet able to work well in teams.
