Overview

This role provides engineering support to maintain production lines and cleanroom cleanliness, ensuring on-time delivery and product quality. Key responsibilities include supporting process qualifications for both operations and suppliers, driving cleanliness improvements through lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques, and performing statistical analysis (SPC) to monitor and sustain process capability.

Job Description
  • Provide engineering support for production line cleanliness and optics bonding to maintain on-time delivery (OTD) and product quality.
  • Support cleanroom cleanliness control and ensure adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Support process qualification activities across operations and facilities.
  • Participate in the development and cleanliness qualification of suppliers to ensure incoming materials and components meet cleanliness requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvement projects to enhance cleanliness throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Apply lean methodologies and structured problem‑solving techniques to drive continuous process improvements.
  • Conduct statistical analyses, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), to monitor and improve process capability and control.
  • Validate new and existing equipment and processes to ensure compliance with cleanliness and operational standards.
  • Generate and maintain manufacturing support documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and maintenance, calibration, and test procedures.
  • Ensure all activities and documentation comply with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), including AS9100 standards.
  • Support the design and development of tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges for cleanroom operations to improve process reliability and efficiency.
  • Assist the operations team in conducting root cause investigations and implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to resolve process deviations and quality issues.
Job Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Optical, Materials, Mechanical or Precision Engineering, Physics/Chemistry, or a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in optical/laser manufacturing or cleanroom environments, preferably supporting production line cleanliness and quality.
  • Exposure to ERP (SAP) knowledge.
  • Proven experience in optics cleanliness methodologies for both equipment and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of cleanroom protocols, contamination control, and strict cleanliness and safety standards (ISO Class 6 or higher).
  • Experience implementing process controls, conducting technician training, and resolving technical issues using structured methodologies such as 8D and DOE.
  • Hands‑on experience with process improvement projects focused on yield, cycle time, and waste reduction.
  • Experience in optical assembly and/or bonding process development is preferred.
  • Customer-facing experience supporting technical inquiries and resource planning.
  • Familiarity with documentation and compliance requirements, including SOPs and Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100).
