Job summary

A leading design consultancy in Singapore seeks a talented designer to conceptualize and develop interior design proposals, coordinate project documentation, and manage procurement. The role requires proficiency in Autocad, familiarity with 3D rendering software, and an architectural degree recognized by the Singapore Board of Architects. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of experience, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in a related field.
  • Well versed in Autocad and familiar with 3D rendering software.

Job description
Design & Concept Development
  • Conceptualize and develop interior design / architecture proposals in alignment with the company’s / team leader’s design direction and client requirements.
  • Translate conceptual ideas into spatial layouts, detailed plans, and 3D visuals for internal and client presentations.
  • Review and refine space planning with consideration for functionality, ergonomics, zoning, and user experience.(diagrammatisation when needed)
  • Prepare presentation boards, mood materials, and design narratives to communicate design intent effectively.
3D Modelling & Visualization
  • Produce detailed 3D models and renderings using software SketchUp (Rhino is a plus as the team is Rhino users, D5 Render or Twinmotion render software is preferred).
  • Generate real-time visualizations to convey spatial atmosphere, lighting, and material quality.
  • Coordinate and manage design visuals to ensure accuracy with design intent and architectural details.
Technical Documentation
  • Prepare and coordinate all design and construction drawings including shop drawings, detailed joinery drawings, Carpentry drawings, electrical and lighting plans and tender documentation.
  • Review and verify project specifications, technical details, and construction documentation.
  • Ensure proper documentation control and circulation of drawings for approval processes.
  • Identify discrepancies, buildability issues, and cross-disciplinary impacts in design and construction drawings.
Project Coordination
  • Attend meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors; record and distribute meeting minutes when required.
  • Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and fabricators for material selection, costing, and technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate between architectural, structural, MEP, and ID teams to ensure consistency across all design drawings and site implementation.
  • Provide feedback to the design and drafting teams on updates, site conditions, and client instructions.
  • Assist the team to check drawings and material submitted by contractor.
  • Assist the team to reply to contractor’s query, if any
  • Assist the team to maintain proper digital filing in RJC server.
Site Supervision & Quality Control
  • Attend site meetings and review ongoing work to ensure design intent and workmanship standards are achieved via zoom when needed
Procurement & Material Management
  • Source, evaluate, and specify materials, finishes, FF&E, and lighting fixtures in line with project conceptsand budgets.
  • Manage procurement documentation and liaise with suppliers for timely delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain an updated material library and supplier database for future reference.
Tender & Administrative Support
  • Assist in preparing tender documents (including design documentation, drawings, schedule of finishes andmaterial cut-sheet, door & window schedule, etc) and compilation of relevant specifications
  • Participate in identifying and coordinating suitable tender opportunities (e.g., Gebiz) for the design team when required.
  • Support project cost monitoring and reporting during design development and execution stages
  • Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Design Director / Project Manager / Architectural Director /Architectural Associate.
Criteria
  • Architectural Degree recognised by Singapore Board of Architects
  • Minimum 1-2 years of working experience
  • Well versed in Autocad
  • Familiarity with 3D rendering Software including SketchUp, Revit, Rhinoceros or 3DSMAX would be advantageous
  • Able to work in a fast pace environment and be a team player
