  • Meeting with clients and other involved professionals at an early stage to agree on the project brief;
  • Developing project briefs and working on these as the project progresses;
  • Preparing design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and traditional drawing methods;
  • Contributing to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures;
  • Understanding how the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at an early stage;
  • Following up with the detailed design process and co-ordinating design information;
  • Liaising with appropriate authorities (e.g. Planning enquiries and technical officers) to obtain statutory approval;
  • Co-ordinating and liaising with the various consultants on the project team;
  • Advising clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking;
  • Leading the preparation of tender documentation and construction drawings;
  • Assisting in administering contracts and project certifications;
  • Obtaining feedback on work in progress and finished results from clients;
  • Making site visits to check on progress and ensuring that the project is running within the agreed timescale;
  • Solving problems that might occur during building/construction stage;
  • Carrying out defect inspections;
  • Managing the work of junior staff/direct reports.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years experience in the architectural industry in Singapore or Malaysia
  • Able to work within a team and in a fast-paced environment Familiar with building regulations (Singapore or Malaysia)
  • Strong Portfolio
  • Good working attitude, proactive and conscientious.
