Applications Developer – Avaloq
Responsibilities
- Lead and drive end-to-end analysis, solution design, validation, and workshops within the assigned domain to ensure complete and consistent requirements coverage.
- Translate customer business needs into clear application and operational requirements; challenge assumptions, propose cost‑optimal solutions, and always consider broader business objectives.
- Manage functional and technical designs for new features or enhancements.
- Bridge requirements, solutioning, development, and testing by working closely with developers on delivery scope, resources, and planning.
- Formalize business requirements into functional and technical specifications through documentation analysis, workshops, surveys, business process mapping (As‑Is and To‑Be), use cases, and scenarios.
- Facilitate conversations between business and technical stakeholders; when consensus is not achievable, make informed decisions based on feasibility, cost, architectural guidelines, and business strategy.
- Provide timely progress updates, highlight risks and issues, and elevate to the project or delivery manager as necessary.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in designated areas and deep‑dive into requirement or solution gaps with support from product architects.
- Act as the primary contact for functional inquiries and support consulting projects and customer workshops.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, or related discipline.
- 6–9 years of Financial Technology experience (Wealth Management, Core Banking); Avaloq experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial and global market regulations.
- Proven analytical and product management skills with the ability to convert business needs into functional and technical requirements.
- Exposure to Trading, Middle Office, and Back Office platforms such as Bloomberg, Avaloq, and FinIQ is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Highly structured, organized, and results driven with strong attention to detail and consistent quality execution.
- Proficient in testing concepts; test automation experience is beneficial.
- Ability to multitask, work flexibly, and adapt to shifting priorities.

Client Management
- Static data, client modelling, onboarding processes, CRM modules.
Portfolio Management
- Portfolio Desk, Performance Desk, IPS, asset allocation, benchmarking, investment propositions, model portfolios.
Transactional Modules
- Cash: FX, Money Market, OTCs, payments, transfers.
- Investments: asset management, time‑series management, stock exchange operations, settlement, corporate actions, reconciliation.
- Credit/Finance: facilities, financing, limits, loans, guarantees, security financing.
- Cost and fees.
- Compliance rules and setup.
- Regulatory knowledge.
Migration Expertise
- ETL, static and dynamic data migration, migration workflows, strategies, planning, and data mapping.
Project Management
- Experience in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
