Short Description

The Application Engineer combines technical expertise and domain knowledge to support sales, deliver solutions, and drive successful projects. Acting as a product expert in safety and controllers, the role involves customer engagement, applications consulting, project support, demos, and pilots for new business opportunities.

Technical Support

  • Design and implement safety and PLC solutions across industrial applications.
  • Provide training, technical support, and troubleshooting (HW/SW) for partners, customers, and internal teams.
  • Lead implementation projects, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop system solutions, proposals, bid responses, and technical presentations.
  • Support solution integration through site visits, requirement specifications, documentation, and testing plans.
  • Drive innovation by developing proofs-of-concept/prototypes using Omron products.
  • Continuously acquire knowledge in industrial automation to enhance solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise, presales consultation, and product/project presentations to support deal closures.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to map customer requirements and deliver optimized solutions.
  • Share insights on competitors’ products and customer needs with Sales & Marketing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software, electronics, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years’ experience in industrial safety, controllers, or automation systems implementation
  • Strong problem-solving skills with hands-on HW/SW capability, including system architecture, firmware, drivers, OS, and applications
  • Ability to interpret engineering diagrams, troubleshoot electrical/production issues, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Fluency in English (written & verbal); willingness to travel 15–30%
  • Technical certifications/licensing preferred; knowledge of machine learning/AI a plus
