Job summary

A leading reinsurer in Singapore is looking for an Application & Database Analyst. You will provide daily support for business applications and databases, translate business needs into data requirements, and ensure optimal performance of database systems. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in the relevant field, familiar with MS SQL, scripting languages, and database design. This is a permanent role with a salary of up to SGD 6,000 per month.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in an application and database system role
• Familiar with DXC SICS or SAP Business Intelligence, highly preferred
• Good knowledge of MS SQL database and scripting languages
• Strong knowledge of database design, data modelling, and query optimisation
• Good technical, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support for business applications and databases, resolving application bugs, database errors, and integrate new features in a timely manner
• Translate business rules and process needs into structured data requirements and system specifications
• Build and refine database frameworks to deliver accurate reporting and effective data extraction
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models
• Assist with the implementation of application patches, upgrades, and database migrations
• Support and manage user access to applications and databases
• Conduct system and application tests to ensure functionality and performance before new releases or updates
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning measures to optimize performance
• In-charge of IT audits and BCP
• Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices
• Backup IT system support tasks
• Other assigned duties
