Job summary

Qualifications

  • Able to perform work in chemical plant lab environment handling highly hazardous and toxic material.
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island and be on call outside office hours if required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the contact for production units and monitor lab-generated analytical results.
  • Oversee equipment operation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Allocate lab personnel and schedule tasks to support production activities effectively.
  • Purchase and manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals and consumables.
  • Lead risk assessments and ensure adherence to safe practices.

Jobscope:

  • Production Support & Coordination Act as the contact for production units, monitor lab-generated analytical results, and manage LIMS according to the analysis plan.
  • Laboratory Equipment Management Oversee equipment operation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting, including liaising with vendors for repairs.
  • Manpower & Scheduling Allocate lab personnel and schedule tasks to support production activities effectively.
  • Procurement & Inventory Management Purchase and manage laboratory supplies, including chemicals and consumables.
  • Safety & Compliance Lead risk assessments, ensure adherence to safe practices, and maintain quality records.
  • Training & Technical Support Coach, guide, and train lab technicians according to the technician progression plan.
  • Continuous Improvement & Documentation Foster method development and transfer, update analytical procedures, and be available outside office hours if required.

Requirements:

  • Min. Degree / Master's Degreein Chemistry or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory environment in the chemical industry
  • Hands on experience in handling analytical instruments including trouble shooting
  • Sound knowledge of Lab equipment such as GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass Oven, Rotavap, Densimeter, X-ray, TOC-Analyzer, Molsieve, TGA Analyzer
  • Able to perform work in chemical plant lab environment handling highly hazardous and toxic material
  • Experience in people management preferred
  • Wiling to work in Jurong Island
  • Possible for called in outside office hours (if required)
