Job Description

To provide governance, advisory and oversight on Quality Assurance (QA) defined by GFCD QA to all QA execution teams - including MUFG Global Solution (MGS) GFCD QA, Branches, and the First Line of Defense - across the key financial crimes controls (AML, ABC, KYC and Sanctions) in APAC region (ex Japan). Report QA MI results regularly and communicate QA program developments to stakeholders in APAC. Identify and resolve risks and issues related to QA or the underlying control, design and assess the effectiveness of the QA program in the region. Manage and oversee day-to day activities to ensure smooth running of Business-As Usual (“BAU”) activities as well as any other assignments in APAC GFCD QA.

Strategic
  • Actively participate in the implementation of Global Financial Crimes Department ("GFCD") strategic goals
  • Support the APAC GFCD QA team structures to align to the GFCD QA target operating model, including establishing the Execution, and Governance, Advisory and Oversight functions.
  • Ensure timely identification, escalation and remediation of issues impacting the GFCD program.
Customer
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate QA Working Groups, including the required attendees, the frequency and a standing agenda to support proactive and effective use of QA MI to improve financial crimes control processes.
  • Ensure timely identification, escalation and remediation of issues impacting the GFCD program.
  • Drive a no-surprises culture; issues should be identified and promptly escalated so that they can be evaluated and addressed as appropriate.
  • Support proactive communication to the Regional Head of Financial Crimes and relevant leadership team members regarding risks to timely remediation of issues (especially regarding possibility of missed deadlines/retargets).
  • Establish a succession plan to ensure continuity of the function in the event of absence.
People

Others
  • Co-ordinate the comprehensive refresh of the GFCD QA Methodology driven by GFCD QA.
  • Support the new suite of GFCD QA metrics and management information at regional levels.
  • Provide guidance on QA variance scoring when queries raised and further elevate whenever necessary.
  • Collaborate with respective QA Review teams in the region to submit QA MI reports timely and accurately.
Job Requirements
  • Degree qualified
  • At least 2 years of experience in FCC QA
  • Experience in interacting with finance crime program leadership and compliance subject matter experts.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region as well as globally
