Responsibilities
- Financial Management and Reporting
- Manage the full set of accounts and ensure timely, accurate month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare management reports, financial statements, and variance/KPI analyses.
- Develop supporting schedules for audit and ensure audit readiness.
- Controls, Compliance, and Governance
- Establish and strengthen internal controls; maintain accounting policies and SOPs.
- Oversee financial control and internal audit activities; ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and tax/GST regulations.
- Investigate discrepancies and maintain strict confidentiality and data security.
- AP/AR, Billing, and Cash
- Oversee AP/AR cycles, billing accuracy, credit notes, and dispute resolution.
- Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders with business units.
- Manage weekly payment runs, COD collections, bank reconciliations, and cash book updates.
- Lead cash flow management and forecasting; optimize working capital.
- Cost and Inventory Management
- Drive cost control initiatives and margin improvement.
- Oversee inventory control and valuation; coordinate stock counts and reconcile to the GL.
- Systems and Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate accounting data in the ERP; improve finance processes and system workflows.
- Lead or support ERP and automation initiatives to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team; review work of assistants and analysts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, ops, procurement) to resolve issues and support business decisions.
- Handle ad-hoc analyses and special projects as assigned.
- Taxation and Statutory
- Prepare and submit GST/VAT returns on a quarterly basis; ensure timely compliance.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and regulators as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, professional certification (e.g., CPA/ACCA) is a plus.
- 10 years of relevant experience managing full sets of accounts and month-end close.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax/GST compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ERPs and accounting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Xero, QBO).
- Analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership: ability to mentor, review work, and drive performance.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
