Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Senior Planner to lead planning and scheduling for major roads and highways projects in Riyadh. You will work with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress.

The role requires strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to coordinate multiple projects while mentoring junior planners and driving process improvements within the planning function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 20+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling with progression to senior roles.
• Experience on roads & highways construction projects.
• Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and related tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Leadership qualities to motivate teams and drive results in a collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with project management best practices, methodologies, and regulatory standards.
• Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of project plans, including scope, WBS, schedule, and resource allocation in collaboration with project teams.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using project management software, ensuring alignment with objectives and milestones.
• Coordinate with resource managers to allocate resources across multiple projects.
• Identify risks and constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor progress against schedules and milestones; address deviations or delays.
• Communicate project status, risks, and issues to teams, stakeholders, and senior management.
