Job summary

Rackspace Technology seeks an experienced OpenStack engineer for its Private Cloud Professional Services team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on deploying, configuring, and optimizing a production OpenStack private cloud with Kubernetes integration and automation scripts.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure stability, security, and high performance in compliant environments, guiding customers through best practices and potential pitfalls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• Strong Linux system administration experience and scripting (Python, Bash) for automation.
• Hands-on OpenStack deployment, configuration, and management.
• Knowledge of Software Defined Storage (Ceph) and cloud-native principles.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication skills, and customer-facing experience.
• Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, COA are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support, deploy, and manage OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure.
• Configure and maintain OpenStack services (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone).
• Understand Canonical OpenStack tools (Juju, LXD).
• Gain familiarity with advanced OpenStack services (Octavia, Designate, Masakari).
• Knowledge of Ceph storage and SDN networking; monitor and optimize performance.
