Job summary

Tangent International is seeking a Senior DPI & Packet Core Specialist to lead DPI platforms and lifecycle management for a mobile operator in Riyadh. You will own DPI platforms, troubleshoot at packet level, and drive automation initiatives across Packet Core and IP infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years in DPI/Packet Core environments, strong TCP/IP knowledge, Linux administration, and cross-functional collaboration with vendor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in telecommunications network operations, Packet Core, or DPI environments.
• Strong expertise in DPI and traffic management platforms.
• Proven experience supporting 2G/3G/4G LTE and 5G Packet Core networks.
• In-depth TCP/IP networking and application-layer protocols knowledge.
• Proficient in Wireshark, tcpdump, and packet analysis.
• Linux administration and system troubleshooting.
• Experience with Python, Bash, Ansible for network automation.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and incident management skills.
• Familiarity with carrier-grade troubleshooting methodologies and change management.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize DPI platforms for traffic classification and service visibility.
• Monitor network performance and identify degradation or bottlenecks.
• Perform packet-level troubleshooting using Wireshark, tcpdump, and diagnostics.
• Investigate and resolve complex Packet Core, transport, and application-layer issues.
• Conduct RCA for critical incidents and recurring faults.
• Collaborate with Packet Core, IP, OSS/BSS, and vendor teams.
• Support software upgrades, patch management, and lifecycle activities.
• Analyze traffic patterns and propose optimization strategies.
• Develop automation scripts and operational tools to enhance efficiency.
• Maintain operational documentation and knowledge base.
• Support network audits and capacity planning.
• Ensure adherence to security standards and change management.
