Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the management of costs and contracts for our heavy industry and metallurgy projects. This position requires a deep understanding of construction methodologies, cost estimation, and contract management to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for providing accurate financial and contractual advice to the project team while also collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial guidelines.
  2. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  3. Analyze and evaluate contractor bids and proposals, providing recommendations based on cost-effectiveness and quality.
  4. Oversee the management of contracts, including negotiation, administration, and dispute resolution to ensure all parties meet their obligations.
  5. Monitor project expenditures and provide regular reports to senior management on financial performance and budget variances.
  6. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate project costing and timely delivery.
  7. Prepare and submit progress claims, variations, and final accounts to clients and stakeholders.
  8. Implement and maintain effective cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle.
  9. Advise on procurement strategies and assist in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve cost management processes.
Preferred Candidate
  1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the heavy industry or metallurgy sectors, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  2. In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, cost management principles, and relevant legislation.
  3. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients, contractors, and team members.
  5. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools, with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating initiative and leadership qualities.
  7. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work outputs.
  8. Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with professional accreditation preferred.
  9. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed and work flexible hours to meet project demands.
  10. Fluency in both English and Arabic is a plus, enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.
