Job summary

The Career Nest is partnering with a refined casual dining destination in Al Khobar, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, seeking a Junior Pastry Sous Chef to join a stylish kitchen team. Qualifications

• 3–5 years dedicated pastry experience, with 2–3 years as Chef de Partie Pastry or senior pastry cook in fine dining or upscale settings.
• Technical foundation in viennoiserie, doughs, creams, chocolate work, fillings, shelf life, storage, and allergen controls.
• Precise, creative, and cost-conscious with a focus on consistency.
• English fluency is mandatory; French or other European language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Execute classic and contemporary pastry techniques with precision and presentation finesse.
• Mentor and develop the pastry team, maintain discipline during busy services, and lead the section in the Head Pastry Chef's absence.
• Plan daily production, monitor shelf life, uphold FIFO and labeling standards, and manage freezing/defrosting procedures.
• Ensure all items meet strict taste, texture and visual standards while keeping the workspace clean and compliant.
• Monitor stock levels, manage portions, and minimize waste to protect premium quality and costs.
